Community-Designated Student Programs

As-U-R

As-U-R is an intensive student support program focused on supporting students with executive function challenges (EFCs).

Any degree-seeking undergraduate student who attends, or plans to attend App State is eligible to apply.

TRIO Student Support Services

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) provides comprehensive services to 200 students who are first-generation and/or low-income. We provide opportunities for academic development, assist students with college requirements, and motivate students to successfully complete their degree.

First-Generation Student Support

At Appalachian State University, being a first-generation college student means you're the first in your family to earn a four-year degree—and that's something to be proud of. In fact, nearly one-third of our students share that distinction.

Murray Family ACCESS Program

The Murray Family ACCESS Program is App State's promise to low-income North Carolina students that higher education is within reach. Students who earn a place at App State and are selected for the ACCESS scholarship and support program have the opportunity to graduate debt-free.
